  • Face-off: Al Jazira and Al Ahli will battle it our for the AGC.

Two of the finest teams in the UAE meet this Saturday, as the Arabian Gulf Cup reaches its crescendo with a mouthwatering final.

The game pits a pair of Emirati heavyweights against each other, as Dubai’s Al Ahli continue their quest for a domestic treble when they meet Abu Dhabi giants Al Jazira.

Supporters can be sure to see a match to savour, with some tickets still available for the event in Al Ain that will provide a wide variety of entertainment.

This clash has been given a fitting venue, as the magnificent Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium hosts its first showpiece event.

Tickets will be available on match day at the ground, with ticket booths situated in the allocated parking lots around the stadium for Al Jazira and Al Ahli.

Category 2 tickets are sold out, but there will still be Category 1 (Dh50) and VIP tickets (Dh350) available for purchase on the day.

Both sides scrapped their way to the final following an exhaustive group stage with Jazira progressing thanks to a dramatic semi-final penalty shootout with Al Dhafra, while Ahli earned a hard-fought 1-0 win with 10 men against Sharjah.

Added intrigue is provided by the fact it is the only chance of silverware for the capital side.

In Ahli they face a club who have dominated Emirati football this term under the expert guidance of former Ahli manager Cosmin Olaroiu.

They cantered to the Arabian Gulf League title with several games to spare and, if they triumph this weekend, they will go into May’s President’s Cup final with a chance to complete the domestic set.

This weekend, there will be a fan zone located at Gate 5 of the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium with a number of fun activities, including the Abu Dhabi International Bank Football Fan Van, ADIB Skill Cage and Shoot Wall Game. Supporters can also represent their teams by utilising the face painting service.

A dedicated selfie photo booth will also be on site, with plenty of other football-related activities for the entire family to get involved with.

The fan zone will be open for fans to enjoy in the lead-up to kick-off, between 16:30-19:30.

There will also be half-time entertainment in the form of a raffle draw by ADIB, and of course the excitement of the trophy presentation ceremony at the conclusion of the match.

Supporters who make the trip to the Garden City will be entertained by this showcase of some of the greatest players in the UAE.

Jazira’s star-studded squad is managed by former Italy goalkeeper Walter Zenga and vast sums have been lavished on Ecuadorian powerhouse striker Felipe Caicedo, Moroccan magician Abdelaziz Barrada and Brazilian maestro Jucilei.

Meanwhile, it is Ahli’s collective might that has propelled them to success with the measured talent of Hugo Viana providing the platform for Chilean schemer Luis Jimenez to set up Brazilian hot shot Grafite.

With such varied family entertainment, and some of the finest footballers in Asia on display, this is an occasion not to be missed.

What should make the eventeven more grand is the stadium itself. The 25,000-capacity Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium was built to the highest specifications, and has already established itself as one of the finest in the Gulf region since being opened in January.

The stadium has been designed to reflect cultural Emirati elements, such as the date palmshaped facade of the stadium, while embracing elements of modernity in the form of LED panels. The purple-themed stadium is a great balance of innovation and tradition, ensuring it offers the highest level of hospitality to its visitors.
