  • Missed chance: Ajman had the perfect opportunity to claim a massive win over Al Wahda.

Ajman had to settle for a 3-3 draw after twice squandering leads against top of the league Al Wahda at the Rashid bin Saeed Stadium this evening.

Wahda started with intent and went 1-0 up after just two minutes through Sebastian Tagliabiue’s sixth goal of the season. The Argentine’s stabbed effort adjudged to have crossed the line despite the protests of the Ajman defence.

Two goals in four minutes from Bakari Kone quickly turned the match in the away side’s favour, however.

The Ivorian’s first came in the eighteenth minute, Kone curling his finish smartly into the far corner from the edge of the area. His second was just as well taken, directing his header across goal and into the far corner superbly.

Boris Kabi almost made it three 13 minutes later but his effort was straight at Wahda goalkeeper Adel Alhosani and the Ajman skipper was unable to pounce on the rebound.

Damian Diaz rather fortunately equalised after a Tagliabue strike deflected off of his chest and past the stranded Ali Mesmari in the Ajman goal.

Just a minute later Ajman were back in front as Adel Alhosani’s header was bundled over the line via a deflection off his team-mate Najeeb Al Jasmi.

Mohamed Al Shehhi brought Wahda back on level terms in the 55th minute before Ajman had Abdulla Saleh Abdulla sent off ten minutes later.

Elsewhere, Al Wasl’s terrible run of form continued, losing 2-1 to Bani Yas at the Zabeel Stadium.

Joan Verdu gave his visiting Bani side the lead but his effort was cancelled out by Wasl’s Caio in first-half stoppage time.

Six minutes from the end, Bandar Al Ahbabi secured his team all three points and resigned Wasl to their third defeat of the campaign.
