  • AGL side Ajman have called upon to Manuel Cajuda to help stop the rot.

Arabian Gulf League strugglers Ajman have pulled the plug on Fathi Al Jabal’s troubled tenure, naming former Sharjah boss Manuel Cajuda as his replacement.

Al Jabal, 51, had earned a stellar reputation by leading previous club Al Fateh to their first-ever Saudi Professional League title in 2012- 13. But the Tunisian’s pedigree had not been apparent for the Orange Brigade, who sit in the relegation zone on nine points after 13 games.

Ajman’s patience finally snapped yesterday, shortly after their Arabian Gulf Cup campaign ended with them outside the qualification spots for Friday’s semi-finals.

A message on their Twitter account confirmed they had turned to Portuguese supremo Cajuda, 63, who will “lead the first team until the end of the football season”.

The ex-Braga boss proved a steady hand at Sharjah between 2009-11, surprisingly being sacked with the club safely in seventh.
