  • Toure (l) has been absent from Nasr's pre-season.

Ibrahima Toure looks set to end his unauthorised absence from Al Nasr after he vowed to be “back soon” to finally start pre-season training.

Toure, 28, has gone AWOL from the Blue Wave for the second summer in succession by travelling to Africa prior to preparations for the 2015/16 campaign which began on July 11.

His actions have enraged the President’s Cup and Arabian Gulf Cup holders, a senior official stating they are being forced to strongly consider selling their errant centre forward “for the good of the club” as work continues in their German training camp without him.

But the Senegal international – who has scored 34 goals in 43 Arabian Gulf League games since his August 2013 move from Monaco – said via Instagram that he intends to return in the immediate future.

“Back soon, missing,” he posted with a picture of him greeting the Nasr supporters from a match last season.

Whether such a gesture will be able to save his Nasr career is unclear, though their pursuit of a replacement in Brazil striker Nilmar seems to have entered difficulties after he stated a desire to stay at Internacional.

Nilmar, 31, is reportedly subject to a two-year contract offer worth up to €3 million per annum (Dh12.2m).

“I have not received a proposal from anyone,” he told Correio do Povo newspaper. “I’m happy to be at Inter, I’m home. I am happy here and I would like to stay.”
