After the success of last year's inaugural event, the UAE Rugby Annual Awards returns on April 9 to celebrate the best that the sport has to offer in the United Arab Emirates.
Rugby continues to go from strength to strength in the UAE, with interest and participation in the game growing – the UAE Rugby Annual Awards showcases the talent and community behind this growth with 16 categories,
THE PUBLIC VOTING PORTAL IS NOW OPEN.
The categories are as follows:
SENIOR PLAYER OF THE SEASON: This category is open to all senior rugby players (18+ years) registered with the UAE Rugby Federation and playing within the UAE league. Judges will look for evidence of exceptional performance and sportsmanship throughout the season.
SENIOR EMIRATI PLAYER OF THE SEASON: This category is open to all senior Emirati rugby players (18+ years) registered with the UAE Rugby Federation and playing within the UAE league. Judges will look for evidence of exceptional performance and sportsmanship throughout the season.
WOMEN'S PLAYER OF THE SEASON: This category is open to all female rugby players registered with the UAE Rugby Federation and playing within the UAE league. Judges will look for evidence of exceptional performance and sportsmanship throughout the season.
COACH OF THE SEASON: This category is open to all registered coaches of teams playing within the UAE Rugby League. Judges will look for evidence of the coach’s ability to establish, deliver and maintain successful and productive coaching sessions, leadership qualities and ability to ensure player development.
REFEREE OF THE SEASON: This category is open to all referees registered with the UAE Rugby Federation and refereeing within the UAE league. Judges will look for evidence of technical knowledge, in-game competence and accurate judgment throughout the season.
FAIR PLAY TEAM SEASON: This category is open to all teams registered with the UAE Rugby Federation and playing within the UAE league. Judges will look for evidence of exceptional sportsmanship and the ability to uphold the spirit of the game across the 2014-2015 season.
BEST MINI EXPAT PLAYER: This category is open to all youth non-Emirati rugby players (U9-U13) registered with the UAE Rugby Federation and playing within the UAE league. Judges will look for evidence of exceptional performance and sportsmanship throughout the season.
BEST YOUTH EXPAT PLAYER: This category is open to all youth non-Emirati rugby players (U14-U18) registered with the UAE Rugby Federation and playing within the UAE league. Judges will look for evidence of exceptional performance and sportsmanship throughout the season.
BEST MINI EMIRATI PLAYER: This category is open to all youth Emirati rugby players (U9-U13) registered with the UAE Rugby Federation and playing within the UAE league. Judges will look for evidence of exceptional performance and sportsmanship throughout the season.
BEST YOUTH EMIRATI PLAYER: This category is open to all youth Emirati rugby players (U14-U18) registered with the UAE Rugby Federation and playing within the UAE league. Judges will look for evidence of exceptional performance and sportsmanship throughout the season.
BEST MINI EXPAT TALENT: This category is open to all youth non-Emirati rugby players (U9-U13) registered with the UAE Rugby Federation and playing within the UAE league. Judges will look for players that show promise and proven development throughout the season.
BEST YOUNG EXPAT TALENT: This category is open to all youth non-Emirati rugby players (U14-U18) registered with the UAE Rugby Federation and playing within the UAE league. Judges will look for players that show promise and proven development throughout the season.
BEST MINI EMIRATI TALENT: This category is open to all youth Emirati rugby players (U9-U13) registered with the UAE Rugby Federation and playing within the UAE league. Judges will look for players that show promise and proven development throughout the season.
BEST YOUNG EMIRATI TALENT: This category is open to all youth Emirati rugby players (U14-18) registered with the UAE Rugby Federation and playing within the UAE league. Judges will look for players that show promise and proven development throughout the season.
VOLUNTEER OF THE SEASON: This category is open to any individual who has given their time and/ or support to the UAE rugby community, clubs or players throughout the 2013-2014 season.
THE ULTIMATE RECOGNITION AWARD: This category is open to those whose support of UAE Rugby and/ or the rugby community has aided the development, promotion and or exposure of the game, league or rugby community in the UAE.
