  • The Infinity team emerged as one of victorious teams of the Ramadan Cup.

Despite losing their first match against DBMSC-B (40) by an extremely narrow three-run margin, Infinity rallied to post a massive 90-run win over OMG. After their batsmen had scored 76 runs from their eight overs, their bowlers plundered the OMG attack, dismissing them for -14 runs.

DBMSC went on to win their second match as well, an easy 36-run win over Kambry’s Cargo (19), who also underwent a day of mixed results after they overcame the Icons (32) by 48 runs.

The Blue Falcons and Al Tayer Motors only played one match on the night, but both teams ended up victorious. An excellent 59-run win over Aeon & Trisl Real Estate (15) gave Blue Falcons the win, while Al Tayer eased past the Dubai Hawks (24), their score of 57 proving to be too much for their opponents.

But the Hawks bounced back in their second match, a tight encounter against the Sandpipers, who could score just 18 runs from their time on the pitch before the Hawks’ sealed the win, putting up 27 runs on the board.

While many teams recorded large wins, the most nail-biting of encounters took place in a low-scoring affair between SFS and the Icons. In the end, it was the Icons who just about managed to squeak past their opponents, with their score of 25 giving them a one-run win over SFS.

It was a repeat situation between the Hazara Eagles and the Sandpipers, albeit with a higher run total. After the Hazara Eagles had put up a score of 42 from their innings, the Sandpipers mustered just the right amount of firepower to record a one-run win to prevent the Eagles from soaring.

Elsewhere, IM Galadari recorded a four run win over the Renegades (40), while The Gurus’ sagely prowess saw them beat United Strikers (47) by seven runs. But the highest scoring affair of the evening was saved for last. Abela & Co thought they had done enough to warrant a win with their score of 51, which on another day would’ve been sufficient to grab victory, but they had discounted the batting prowess of the Falcons.

The Falcons punished their opponents’ bowling attack, putting up a massive score of 80 to win the game.
