    TEAM NEWS, SQUAD, PREDICTED XI

RCB SQUAD: Virat Kohli (c), Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, Shane Watson, Yuzvendra Chahal, Harshal Patel, Mandeep Singh, Adam Milne, Sarfaraz Khan, Sreenath Aravind, Kedar Jadhav, Stuart Binny, Samuel Badree, Travis Head, Sachin Baby, Iqbal Abdullah, Avesh Khan, Tabraiz Shamsi, Pawan Negi, Tymal Mills, Aniket Choudhary, Praveen Dubey, Billy Stanlake.

RCB didn’t quite have the dream start to the tournament as they lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad by 35 runs in the season opener. With Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers still in doubt for selection due to injury, the batting order continues to be tentative.

RCB will need Gayle and Watson to inspire the batting order, should Kohli and de Villiers remain sidelined for the rest of the tournament.

Yuzvendra Chahal was impressive against Hyderabad, while bowler Aniket Choudhary was seriously punished for his soft deliveries to Yuvraj Singh.

Tymal Mills starred in his first match and will be looking to step up his performance for the visit of the Daredevils.

RCB have a formidable record at home and will be counting on that to open their IPL points account.

PREDICTED RCB XI (assuming de Villiers and Kohli aren’t fit yet): Gayle, Watson (c), Mandeep, Head, Jadhav, Baby, Binny, Negi, Aravind, Chahal, Mills.

DD SQUAD: Zaheer Khan (C), Ankit Bawne, Khaleel Ahmed, Corey Anderson, Murugan Ashwin, Sam Billings, Carlos Brathwaite, Pat Cummins, Quinton de Kock (W), Shreyas Iyer, Angelo Mathews, CV Milind, Amit Mishra, Mohammed Shami, Chris Morris, Shahbaz Nadeem, Karun Nair, Rishabh Pant, Pratyush Singh, Kagiso Rabada, Navdeep Saini, Sanju Samson, Shashank Singh, Aditya Tare, Jayant Yadav

Coming into the tournament, Delhi Daredevils were marred by injuries to Quinton de Kock and JP Duminy. Rishabh Pant has been bereaved after his father passed away recently and Shreyas Iyer is ruled out due to chicken pox.

Captain Zaheer Khan will look to lead the team from the front, along with Rahul Dravid. The young team impressed in the last edition of the tournament when almost reaching the play-offs.

Karun Nair, Carlos Brathwaite and Kagiso Rabada need to step up if they want to win games. Chris Morris was in sterling form last year and Delhi will be hoping to make the most of his services in this edition of the tournament.

With Amit Mishra’s experience and Mohammad Shami’s returns from injury, Delhi will be hoping both players rediscover their old form. One of M Ashwin, Shahbaz Nadeem or Jayant Yadav should get a look in for the trip to Bangalore.

PREDICTED DD XI: Billings, Nair, Samson (wk), Tare, Morris, Brathwaite, Rabada,  Mishra, Shami, Zaheer, M Ashwin/Nadeem.
