    5:45 pm – Shami declared unfit

    India pacer Moahmmed Shami was ruled out of the Afghanistan Test after failing to prove his fitness.

    The Indian board announced that Shami had failed to reach the minimum standards required to play for India and named Delhi quick Navdeep Saini as his replacement.

    3.04pm Wins for women’s and men’s Australian Aboriginal XI squads in Derby

    It was two from two for the women’s and men’s Aboriginal XI squads at the 3aaa Country Ground in Derby today with both recording comfortable victories.

    The women crushed the National Cricket Conference by 137 runs while the men defeated hosts Derbyshire by 7 wickets with 17 balls to spare.

    1.34pm: Sanju Samson dropped from India A squad for tour of England after reportedly failing Yo-Yo test

    Sanju Samson’s career took a big hit after the promising youngster was dropped from the Rahul Dravid-coached India A squad which departed for a tour of England on Sunday.

    Samson, who was initially named in the squad, was left out at the last minute after reportedly failing the Yo-Yo test – an endurance-specific running workout, similar to the beep test, which monitors overall fitness.

    According to a report by the Times of India, the 23-year-old fell some way short of the benchmark for the Yo-Yo test which has been set at the 16.1 mark.

    11.37am: Eoin Morgan not ‘hugely disappointed’ after England ODI defeat to Scotland

    Morgan’s side went into the one-off one-day international as the number one-ranked ODI side in the world, but suffered a shock defeat for the first time in their history to Scotland.

    For Scotland, it was a famous win and the greatest in their history having only recently failed to qualify for next year’s World Cup in controversial circumstances and it served as a reminder for Morgan’s side, who are considered favourites for the tournament next year.

    England‘s limited-overs schedule this summer will truly kick into gear with a one-day international series against Australia.
