    Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq hit a fine century while leg-spinner Shadab Khan picked up four wickets as the men in green crushed Zimbabwe by 201 runs on Friday.

    Pakistan made 308-7 before dismissing the hosts for 107 in the first of five ODIs in Bulawayo.

    6:00 pm – James Taylor new England selector

    England have named former batsman James Taylor as their full-time independent selector.

    The 28-year-old will work with national selector Ed Smith, who was appointed in April after James Whitaker left the England and Wales Cricket Board in a restructure.

    5:30 pm – Sri Lanka in control of first Test

    South Africa slumped to their record lowest score in Sri Lanka after being bowled out for 126 as the hosts took control of the first Test in Galle.

    Dilruwan Perera claimed four for 46 as Sri Lanka’s spinners picked up seven of the Proteas’ wickets.  The hosts then edged to 111-4 in their second innings at the end of day two, for a 272-run lead.

    4.08pm: Pakistan in control against Zimbabwe in ODI in Bulawayo

    Imam-ul-Haq, the nephew of Pakistan legend Inzamam Ul-Haq, scored his second ODI century as Pakistan reached 308-7 in their 50 overs against Zimbabwe in their ODI in Bulawayo.

    The 22-year-old, who has been in sensational form with the bat, scored 11 fours in his 134 deliveries before being dismissed by Blessing Muzarabani for 128. Before that, Fakhar Zaman picked up where he left off to score 60 runs while debutant Asif Ali hit contributed with 46 runs

    1.52pm: Virat Kohli says Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal could play in the Test series against England

    Virat Kohli hinted that Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal could play in the Test series against England after being impressed with the wrist spinners’ performances on their tour so far.

    Yadav, who has two Test caps, took 6-25 in India’s eight-wicket victory in the first ODI on Thursday, while also claiming 5-24 in the first T20 in Manchester. In the two-match T20 series, he finished with seven scalps.

    Chahal, who is yet to make his Test debut, arrived in England with six wickets against Ireland but has claimed two wickets so far against Eoin Morgan’s side.

    12.43pm – Mighty South Africa rolled for 126 in first Test against Sri Lanka

    The much vaunted South Africa were skittled for just 126 in Galle on day two of the opening Test to give Sri Lanka a 161-run lead on the first innings.

    The visitors’ batting fell flat against the spinners while responding to Sri Lanka’s 287. Skipper Faf du Plessis top-scored with 49 before the South African innings folded in the second session.

    Off-spinner Dilruwan Perera claimed four wickets while paceman and stand-in-skipper Suranga Lakmal took three.

    11.45am: Pakistan look to continue good form in first ODI against Zimbabwe

    After facing each other in the T20 tri-series, Zimbabwe and Pakistan turn their focus to the 50-over format.

    Sarfraz Ahmed’s side go into the five-match series as strong favourites with a number of key Zimbabwe players missing due to a dispute with their cricket board. Pakistan will be aiming to register their first ODI win in 2018.
