  • Pakistan won the Test series 3-0 the last time the sides met in the UAE.

Both Pakistan and England have confirmed that they will use Dubai Sports City as their main base when the two sides come to the UAE later in the year to compete in T20I, ODI and Test series.

The Series will get underway on October 13th in Abu Dhabi, with the Dubai International Stadium at Dubai Sports City hosting the second Test between 22nd and 26th October, an ODI on the 20th November plus two T20Is on the 26th and 27th November.

Both teams will take advantage of the facilities provided by the ICC Academy at Dubai Sports City for practice and training sessions.

Dubai Sports City President, Khalid Al Zarooni welcomed the news, saying: “We’re looking forward to welcoming these two great international sides back to Dubai Sports City for what will be a hugely exciting Series including all three formats of the game.

“We know how passionate the UAE is about cricket and to be able to offer players, coaches and fans alike with the best practice and playing conditions makes us very proud.”

Trevor Bayliss’ England team will be looking to make amends for the Test Series defeat they suffered to Pakistan during their last tour of the UAE in 2012, when Pakistan delighted their ‘home’ support by winning all three Tests.

The UAE Series will consist of three Test matches, four ODIs and three T20Is and will see England based in the UAE for two months.

It means that Dubai Sports City will be hosting world-class cricket for the sixth year and the Dubai International Stadium will be utilised to it’s maximum capabilities.

Maqbul Dudhia, General Manager, Sports & Events at Dubai Sports City explained: “When we built the Dubai International Stadium, it is Series’ like this that we wanted to attract. Two teams who have a great history and passionate fans to match.

“With the facilities we also have at the ICC Academy, we have the right infrastructure to accommodate any team in the world. It’s a very easy solution for the likes of England and Pakistan to use Dubai Sports City as a home as we have everything they need right here.”

England will arrive in the UAE at the end of September and Pakistan will touch down at the beginning of October.
