Recent history favours hosts Pakistan, following their 3-0 thrashing of England three years ago.
Fast-bowling legend Waqar highlighted his team’s consistency as a troubling factor for England after recent wins against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Australia and a draw with New Zealand.
“I think recently we played a Test series in Sri Lanka and from that result I will not hesitate to say that we are a good Test side,” Waqar told media during a training camp.

“Our batting has done well for the last one year or so and even before that we played Australia and New Zealand we did well, but we will not take England lightly and for that we need to play with the same passion,” he said.
Waqar will once again look to outstanding leg-spinner Yasir Shah, who took 22 wickets in Sri Lanka, as his go-to man for wickets against England.
Shah made his Test debut last year but a meteoricrise has seen the slow-bowler leap to number four in the Test rankings.
Before taking on England, Pakistan will tour Zimbabwe where they will play two Twenty20 and three one-day international matches from September 27 to October 5.
