  • Dejected: Pakistan have to regroup in order to turn their Cricket World Cup campaign around.

All is not well for Pakistan after their successive losses in the world cup against India and West Indies, something which has forced the team management to cancel their practice session and stage special meetings with players.

The Men in Green were scheduled to train in Brisbane tomorrow but now it has been decided that the team needs bonding sessions together and meetings to put them in right state of mind.

Pakistan failed to end their jinx of not winning against India in a world cup match when they loss by 76 runs in their Group B opener while it was followed by a heavy 150-run defeat against West Indies which has made breathing space thinner for them.

Reports of team curfew being breached and fight with fielding coach/trainer Grant Luden has not helped the team either as there were suggestions that Luden even wanted to resign.

“Pakistan will have team bonding sessions and meetings on February 23 and we’ve have cancelled our scheduled training session,” a Pakistan team management official revealed while speaking to Sport360.

“The idea is to sit with players and motivate them to overcome the dent they have received after these back to back defeats.

“There is no margin for error now and the team needs to regain its self-confidence in order to stay in the competition.”

Pakistan next play Zimbabwe on March 1 followed by matches against UAE (March 4), South Africa (March 7) and Ireland (March 15).

“We’ve got a big gap now and the most important thing is to go out with fresh approach as all our strategies have failed. We’re low on confidence and thus it is important to pick up the players and help them get out of the trouble.

The defeat to South Africa by India will only help us because the group is still wide open,” he explained.
