  • Virat Kohli was once again under the social media spotlight but not for his cricketing prowess. The right-handed batsman was briefly mentioned in school exam papers after students at the Chacha Nehru Hindi High School in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra were asked to name his girlfriend as part of their Physical Training (PT) exam.

The multiple-choice question yielded options including Bollywood actresses Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone.

As expected, it only took a few moments for the image to reach viral status on the Internet. While some brushed it off as light-hearted humour and complete scholastic blunder, others were incredulous and quick to criticise the school’s inappropriate use of cricketers’ private affairs as part of their exam.

Kohli recently led India to the number one spot in the ICC Test rankings after a 3-0 series win over New Zealand, which was followed by an unbeaten 85 for India in sealing a six-wicket win in the first ODI.

India and New Zealand will battle once more in the second of five ODIs at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi on Thursday.
