  • MS Dhoni during the fourth ODI against New Zealand

New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor hasn’t been in great form during the tour of India, but on Wednesday, it looked like his fortunes would see a reversal as he got a start. Batting on 34, Taylor looked set to go for the big shots in the final five overs and push New Zealand to a big total.

Off the third delivery of the 46th over, Taylor played a shot down the leg-side which looked likely to fetch him two runs. The Kiwi batsman took his time coming for the second run as he probably thought he would get there at a canter, and that cost him big time.

Dhawal Kulkarni’s throw seemed harmless, but Indian wicket-keeper MS Dhoni collected the ball well ahead of the stumps before throwing the ball onto the wicket without even turning his back.

Taylor was millimetres short of his ground and will surely never slow down when he’s running to Dhoni’s end ever again.
