  • Hardik Pandya's inclusion has surprised a few.

The Indian Test squad which will lock horns with England in the first two Tests of their five-match series later this month was announced on Wednesday. There weren’t many surprises in the squad, with Hardik Pandya as the only fresh face.

Pandya’s selection comes on the back of an impressive debut ODI series where he picked up the Man of the Match award in his debut game. The Baroda all-rounder could be used as a seam bowling all-rounder if captain Virat Kohli is looking to add more muscle to the batting line-up when India play three spinners.

Twitter users, though, didn’t seem very approving of Pandya’s selection in the longest format of the game.

There was also a lot of hue and cry regarding the exclusion of Yuvraj Singh on Twitter. The Punjab batsman has been in terrific form in the Ranji Trophy this season, but having played his last Test in 2012 and with age not on his side, it came as no surprise.

Here, we round-up some of the top reactions from Twitter.
