As expected, Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara were heavily praised on social media after their fine centuries which helped India reach 317-4 at the end of play on day one of the second Test at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam.
India won an important toss and elected to bat first on a wicket which is expected to assist the spinners later on, but were reduced to 22-2 by the English pace duo of James Anderson and Stuart Broad early on Thursday.
Thereafter, Kohli and Pujara were at their fluent best as they put on a 226-run stand for the third wicket. Pujara was dismissed for 119, while Kohli will continue batting on Friday with his overnight score reading 151.
