After conceding a 100-run lead in the first innings, Mumbai fought back strongly to end day three in a healthy position in the Ranji Trophy final against Gujarat.

Shreyas Iyer was definitely the star of the show for the 41-time Ranji Trophy champions. While his form hasn’t been great through the season, he stepped up to the mark when Mumbai needed him the most.

And 17-year-old Prithvi Shaw also looked impressive yet again with a knock of 44.

Iyer’s 82 helped Mumbai find a way back into the game, but his wicket in the final session of the day will encourage Gujarat.

Suryakumar Yadav and captain Aditya Tare saw to it that there was no more damage as Mumbai ended the day’s play with a lead of 108 and seven wickets in hand.

Chintan Gaja picked up all three wickets for Gujarat.

Earlier in the day, Gujarat lost their final four wickets for just 37 runs and were bowled out for 328. Shardul Thakur took four wickets while Balwinder Sandhu and Abhishek Nayar accounted for two scalps each.
