India captain Virat Kohli posted a Holi message for his fans on Twitter, wishing them on the occasion.

At the same time, Kohli spoke about the importance of looking after the safety of animals during the festival, asking people to not throw water or colours at animals.

“Hello everyone, just want to wish you all a very, very Happy Holi. Although my Holi is going to be spent travelling to Ranchi, I wish you all a great day today,” sad Kohli.

“Enjoy with your family and friends, have lots of fun, look after your pets. Be safe and please don’t humiliate any animals on the streets either. Don’t throw water on them, don’t throw any balloons on them, (don’t) throw colours at them. It’s very important that their safety is also looked after.

“At the same time, enjoy yourselves and enjoy this great festival.”
