  • Rohit Sharma and Parthiv Patel have been named as the captains of the India ‘Blue’ and India ‘Red’ teams respectively for the upcoming the Prof D B Deodhar Trophy 2017.

Rohit recently made his return to competitive cricket after getting injured during the ODI series against New Zealand in October 2016. He played two games for Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he made scores of 16 and 4.

The Deodhar Trophy will see India ‘Blue’, India ‘Red’ and Tamil Nadu [the winners of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, the premier List A competition in India] face off against each other on March 25-29 in Visakhapatnam.

This is an important tournament as it is the last 50-over domestic competition before the ICC Champions Trophy and the cricketers in action will be eager to impress and book the flight to England in June.
