India captain Virat Kohli continues to be a doubt for the fourth Test against Australia at Dharamsala due to the shoulder injury he suffered during the previous Test in Ranchi.

While diving near the boundary fence in an attempt to save a four, Kohli had injured his right shoulder and sat out the rest of Australia’s first innings.

The 28-year-old did come out to bat at his regular position but did field in Australia’s second innings.

Now, on the eve of the final Test with the series level at 1-1, Kohli has said that he will play in the match only if he is fully fit and that there are no special rules for him just because he is the captain of the side.

“There’s no special treatment for anyone. Obviously, if I’m 100% fit for the game, is the only condition I will take the field.  The rules apply to everyone and they are the same for everyone,” said Kohli.

Kohli also mentioned that a call on his availability will be made on either Friday night or on the morning of the Test as he is set to go through fitness tests ahead of the crucial game.

The Delhi batsman was unsure about the risks involved in him playing in Dharamsala and feels that Team India’s physio Patrick Farhart can explain that better.

“The physio can explain that better. I don’t know the magnitude of the risk, but all I know is that if I go through the fitness tests, then I’ll take the field,” he added.

“Probably, we’ll take a call on it later tonight [Friday] or tomorrow before the game.”

Uncapped batsman Shreyas Iyer was added to the Indian squad on Thursday as a back-up in case Kohli fails his fitness tests.
