India captain Virat Kohli singled out Cheteshwar Pujara for special praise after the latter’s outstanding season with the bat.
Pujara notched up a total of 1,316 runs at an average of 62.66 over the course of the 13 Test matches, which is an Indian record for the most runs in a season in Test cricket.
He also slammed four centuries, including a double ton against Australia in Ranchi.
The Saurashtra batsman ended the season with 2,064 runs in first-class cricket which is a record for any batsman in an Indian season.
