Former Australia leg-spinner Shane Warne has backed ex-India captain MS Dhoni after the latter’s poor run of form in the ongoing Indian Premier League [IPL].
In the 2017 edition of the league, Dhoni has managed just 61 from five matches at an average of 15.25 and a lowly strike-rate of 87.14.
As a result, the 35-year-old has come under some criticism, but Warne feels that Dhoni has nothing to prove to anyone.
The legendary leggie wrote his defence of Dhoni in the following message posted to his Facebook page:
Dhoni retired from Test cricket in December 2014 but remains an active member of India’s limited-overs teams. Earlier this year, he resigned as India’s captain in ODIs and T20Is, passing the baton to Virat Kohli.
The Ranchi-born cricketer will hope to be back at his best when the Rising Pune Supergiant host defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad in Pune on Saturday.
If cricket is a religion in India then there is one man who stands at the top of the piety pile; Sachin Tendulkar.
The Little Master is revered in his home country, and all over the world for that matter, for his elegance at the crease and record breaking wealth of runs that spanned his career.
It is little wonder then that Tendulkar’s life is being paid homage to in cinematic form, with A Billion Dreams hitting cinemas on May 26 to profile his incredible rise to the top of world cricket.
And on Thursday, Tendulkar shared the latest trailer for the movie which instantly made its mark on the wider world.
The trailer has already had an incredible 6.6million views [at the time of writing] less than 24 hours after being shared by the great man on Twitter and is trending on the video-sharing platform.
