  • India captain and ICC Cricketer of the Year, Virat Kohli will become the latest sportsperson to have his wax statue unveiled at the Madame Tussauds museum in Delhi.

The 29-year old will join cricketers Kapil Dev, Sachin Tendulkar and Portugal footballer Cristiano Ronaldo among the sports icons who have featured at the tourist spot.

Speaking about his inclusion, Kohli said, “It’s a great honour to be chosen as one of the figures at Madame Tussauds. All thanks to the Madame Tussauds team who were extremely patient during the sitting sessions and for giving me a lifetime memory,” as quoted by The Hindu.

A team of Madame Tussauds’ expert artists came all the way from London to meet the Indian star for the sitting. They took over 200 specific measurements and images to create an authentic figure.

Kohli is currently gearing up for the eleventh edition of the IPL, and will be leading the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) squad, after having been retained by his franchise.
