  • Nasir last played for Pakistan in the 2015 World Cup

Worcester News reported Thursday that Jamshed will join up with the Birmingham and District Premier Cricket League Division Two outfit after the upcoming Pakistan Cup.

The 26-year-old is some capture for the Old Elizabethans and will be hoping that his club form will impress selectors during Pakistan’s tour of England should a spot open up in their squad this summer.

Jamshed last played for Pakistan at the World Cup last year and has featured in two Tests, 48 ODIS and 18 T20Is for his country.

Walsh hopes Jamshed will join up with the team in time for their opening game of the season against Stratford on April 30, but says that depends on his commitments with Federal Capital at the Pakistan Cup which runs from April 19-May 1.

“There is a chance Nasir will be here for the first league game, but he might miss that one,” Walsh was quoted by Worcester News as saying.

“He’s a fantastic signing. We expect him to score a stack of runs and add experience to quite a young side. I believe he’s quite an explosive opening batsman.”
