  • Pakistan pacer Mohammad Abbas proved his worth in English conditions once again after he finished with a match haul of eight wickets for county side Leicestershire against Derbyshire.

Abbas finished with the match-winning haul in the Second Division clash in Derby that included figures of 2-47 in the first innings and 6-54 in the second as Leicestershire won by six wickets.

Derbyshire were shot out for 184 in the second outing by Abbas after making 245 in the first. Leicestershire, who made 297 in the first innings, fought their way to 133-4 inside 30 overs to taste victory.

Abbas had picked up three wickets each in his previous two county games for Leicestershire.

It continues an excellent run in England for the 28-year-old seam bowler.

It was Abbas’ eight-wicket haul in the Lord’s Test against England that sealed a famous win for Pakistan late last month.
