  • India will be back at the same venue on Sunday, to face Cup hosts Bangladesh, in the hope they can carry their winning streak into the start of the ICC World Twenty20 on their own home soil.

They made predictably short work of Thursday’s opponents, despite a battling 43 from Shaiman Anwar – one of only two double-figure scores in a total of 81 for nine after UAE won the toss under lights.

India’s bowlers shared out the wickets, after Bhuvneshwar Kumar took a miserly two for eight.

Rohit Sharma then hogged 39 of the 43 runs in India’s opening stand, before Shikhar Dhawan and Yuvraj Singh completed a straightforward task – for a fourth win out of four in the tournament, with almost a full 10 overs to spare.

Qualifiers UAE bowed out with a fourth successive defeat against Test-playing opposition.

“The wickets here have been challenging, not the easiest,” said man of the match Rohit. “I am glad we have put up a performance like that.

“Initially, you have to see the conditions. Once you get a hang of it, you can probably play your shots,” he added.
