Renowned for his work as a cricket writer, commentator and sports journalist, Tony Cozier passed away aged 75.
Cozier began his career as a teenager in 1958, and down the years became one of the distinguished voices of West Indian cricket in spite of never having played the game at the highest level.
In a career spanning five decades, Cozier worked across different mediums – print, radio, television, and more recently, the internet. In 1978, he authored the acclaimed book, The West Indies: 50 Years of Test Cricket.
The cricketing fraternity mourned his demise on Twitter, here are some of the things people said about him.
Go well Tony Cozier. You adorned our game. You loved it like a child and a parent. You had respect. You had dignity. And you had love.

Desperate to report the passing of great family friend, Tony Cozier. Not enough room here to pay sufficient tribute. Will miss him hugely

To say Cozier loved cricket would be shallow: it was his life. He gave to the game as much as he got from it.
