England’s opening batsmen Haseeb Hameed and Alastair Cook put on an unbeaten 114-run stand as the visitors extended their lead to 163 with just one day left in the first Test against India at Rajkot.
Hameed scored his maiden Test half-century on debut and looked fluent during his knock, one full of real maturity, especially for a 19-year-old.
He didn’t look at all uncomfortable, at home in the surrounds of Test cricket so early into his fledgling career in both professional and international cricket.
As England put themselves on top of the first Test, Hameed’s composed innings stole the headlines, and it is safe to say that the cricketing world was left impressed by the young opener’s efforts.

Having ensured they can't lose, will be interesting to see England's approach to the rest of the match.

There's a shortage of 100s in India. Except, it seems, in Rajkot. #DeMonetisation #IndvsEng
