Virat Kohli and Murali Vijay both struck centuries as India took a 51-run lead in the first innings, with three wickets still in hand in the fourth Test against England.
Vijay was dismissed for 136 while Kohli ended day three unbeaten on 147 as India’s score read 451/7.
With the Indian Test captain scoring a mastery hundred, there was a lot of praise for him from ex-cricketers on Twitter.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan labelled Kohli as a ‘genius’ while former Indian opening batsman Aakash Chopra went one step ahead and called him the ‘best player of this generation’.
There was also some criticism for Alastair Cook’s captaincy, led by none other than former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen.
Here, we look at the top tweets of the day:

We often lament the passing of a generation. Don't. This phase from @imVkohli is as good as any by an Indian batsman.

That's up there with the best Test hundreds Kohli has made. As good as the 76 and 65 another Indian No.4 made here 15 years ago. #INDvENG
