Gujarat enter Ranji Trophy final

    A 66-year-old wait ended for Gujarat as they reached the final of the Ranji Trophy after beating Jharkhand at Nagpur on Wednesday.

    This came after Gujarat had conceded a 18-run lead and had been bowled out for 252 in their second innings, thereby setting Jharkhand a target of 235 to chase down.

    Jharkhand, who were looking to qualify for their first ever Ranji final, were bowled out for just 111 – handing Gujarat a 123-run victory.

    This is the first time that Gujarat are reaching the final of the Ranji Trophy since 1950/1951.

    Indian limited overs pacer Jasprit Bumrah was definitely the star of the show, bowling a a devastating spell that earned him bowling figures of 6/29. He was named the Man of the Match for his efforts.

    RP Singh and Hardik Patel chipped in with three wickets and one wicket respectively.

    Gujarat will now face either Mumbai or Tamil Nadu in the final. At the end of play on day four, Mumbai were 5/0 chasing a fourth innings target of 251.
