India got off to a solid start with the bat in response to Australia’s 451 on day two of the third Test between the two sides at Ranchi.
The hosts will need to continue in the same vein on day three if they are to put Australia on the backfoot. The big question is, of course, if India captain Virat Kohli will bat and where he will bat, having injured his right shoulder while fielding on Thursday.
On the other hand, Australia will be hopeful of getting some quick wickets and applying pressure on the Indian team. A win for the visitors here will see them retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
