The Indian domestic limited-overs tournaments have reportedly been given the go-ahead to be held before this year's Ranji Trophy tournament in a bid to aid preparations for the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
Under the proposal, India’s domestic limited overs tournaments – the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Deodhar Trophy – will be held before the Ranji Trophy to give players the opportunity to stake their claims for a spot in India's World Cup squad and find some 50-over form before the competition.
The BCCI's technical committee, led by former India skipper Anil Kumble, is now waiting for the seal of approval form their colleagues on the working committee.
The matches may also be played under the existing international ODI rules, meaning each bowling team will take a new ball from either end.
With a change in schedule, the NKP Salve Challenger Trophy and the Corporate Trophy have been moved to next year.
The news also means that the CK Naidu Trophy, India's premier under-25 tournament, will be altered and only players under-23 will play in the tournament and a minimum of three Ranji Players allowed per team.
