West Indies to tour India in October

  • Renewing their rivalry: The West Indies will head to India before the hosts'tour of Australia this winter.

    The West Indies are to tour India for a three Tests, five one-days internationals and a one-off Twenty-20 in October and November, it has been announced.

    According to BCCI officials, the tour will help prepare India for their long series in Australia in December.

    The BCCI Tours and Fixtures Committee has shortlisted Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad to host the three Test matches.

    Meanwhile, the committee has allotted the five ODIs to Kolkata, Visakhapatnam, Cuttack, Dharamsala and Kochi.

    Delhi's Feroz Shah Kotla, which will be known to IPL officianados, host the T20 fixture, the first time an international T20 will have been played a the venue.

    According to reports from local media, Ranchi too has high chances of getting a Test match.

    If that happens, it will be a new high for the newly-constructed stadium in Indian skipper MS Dhoni’s home town.

    The dates and venues for the series will be finalised and confirmed shortly.
