India legend escapes car crash unharmed

    Indian batting icon Sunil Gavaskar had a narrow escape from what could have been a serious car accident while he was en route to London from Manchester.

    Reportedly, Gavaskar’s car travelling with fellow commentator Mark Nicholas when the car was hit.

    Heavy rain has lashed the region over the past couple of days, which is said to be the reason for the mishap.

    The ‘little master’, who is in England commentating on the Investec Test series between England and India, was seated on the left side of the back seat when the other vehicle hit them from the right hand side.

    However, all the passengers on board escaped without any injuries.

    “God saved us. There was torrential rain and our car was being driven very fast. Thankfully, no one was hurt although the accident was very, very scary,” Gavaskar, who has over 10,000 Test runs, was quoted as saying by a local newspaper.
