  • Both sets of players could be seen having a good time at the dinner.

India might be running away 4-0 in the five-match ODI series but the two teams took a break from their on-field battles as they turned guests for a special dinner at the house of Lasith Malinga.

The veteran pacer put on his hospitality shoes as he hosted both sets of players for a lavish meal ahead of the final match of the series in Colombo on Sunday.

The islanders have endured a torrid time on and off the field after facing the ire of angry supporters, but all that was forgotten as both sets of players mingled with each other in a relaxed atmosphere.

Malinga picked up his 300th 50-over wicket in the fourth match after he dismissed Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

The Sri Lankan stalwart has been a mainstay of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchisee Mumbai Indians for many years now and the excellent rapport he shares with teammates like Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Ajinkya Rahane and Hardik Pandya could be seen in the pictures shared by the players.

India stars were joined by their wives and families and the excellent hospitality of the Sri Lankan pacer was appreciated by the Indian team members in their social media posts after the dinner.

Great night with great friends πŸ™Œ

Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan was seen enjoying the company of Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal while Niroshan Dickwella captured a group selfie with players from both teams.

The two sides will battle it out one final time in the ODI series in the R. Premadasa stadium in Colombo on Sunday before returning to the same venue on Wednesday for the sole Twenty20 clash.
