  • The team also celebrated Shikhar Dhawan's wedding anniversary.

With India set to take on New Zealand in the first T20I of the three-match series in New Delhi, skipper Virat Kohli decided to invite the team to dinner at his restaurant Nueva in the city on Tuesday night.

The local boy also celebrated the wedding anniversary of opening batsman Shikhar Dawhan with the team in his restaurant ahead of the series.

The opener later posted a picture on Instagram thanking the skipper and his teammates for the lovely gesture.

The national capital will play host to another local boy Ashish Nehra for the last time in international cricket as the veteran pacer is set to retire after the match on Wednesday at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium.

Also seen in attendance during the dinner on Tuesday night were team coach Ravi Shastri along with MS Dhoni, KL Rahul, Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya and Kedar Jadhav.

Many players later took to social media with pictures of the night as they also thanked the skipper for his excellent hospitality.

The hosts had narrowly overcome the Black Caps 2-1 in the preceding three-match one-day series after a tense six-run win in the decider.

Virat Kohli himself has been in great form individually scoring two tons in the series to reclaim the top ICC ODI batsmen ranking from South Africaโ€™s AB De Villiers.
