  • Injured: JP Duminy has not travelled with his side to India due to a knee injury.

Cape Cobras star all-rounder Jean- Paul Duminy is likely to miss the Champions League Twenty20 tournament as he is yet to recover from a reported knee injury.

Though there was no official confirmation either from Cricket South Africa or the Cobras, his name has been withdrawn from the squad and has not travelled to India.

The 26-year-old all-rounder Sybrand Engelbrecht is reportedly the replacement player but, according to ESPNcricinfo, it has been put on hold as the CLT20 technical committee has yet to receive documents confirming the injury.

Duminy is the second-highest run-scorer for Cobras with 981 runs from 40 matches. He has represented them in two Champions Leagues and took Cobras to the semi-final in 2009.

He is the second Cobras player to be withdrawn from CLT20 by the CSA medical team after Dale Steyn. Duminy was injured during the recently concluded tri-series in Zimbabwe.

Cobras begin their campaign against Northern Districts on Friday in Raipur.
