  • Upbeat: CSK coach Stephen Fleming.

Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming is harbouring hopes of a semi-final spot in the Champions League Twenty20 after his team’s powerful batting display against Dolphins on Monday.

Chennai raked up their highest T20 total of 242-6 on way to a 54- run at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. Fleming drew confidence from the fact that Chennai will be playing their next two games at the same venue. First up will be Lahore Lions today (Thursday) and then Perth Scorchers on Saturday.

Fleming said: “It was a good win in the last match after losing the first game to KKR. But there is no complacency because we understand that wining the next two matches will take us through to the semis. We are usually bouncing all around the country, so this time being at one spot is an advantage.

“But we need to make the most of it. We have to see what worked for us in the last match and what didn’t, and look to get better. If we do that, win the next few games here and make it to the final, we will have an advantage as the final is to be held here too,” he added.

While Chennai will be playing their third game, it will be the second game for Lahore after their defeat to Kolkata Knight Riders.
