    11:00 pm – England take 2-0 ODI series lead

    England defeated Australia by 38 runs despite a fine century from Shaun Marsh to take a 2-0 lead in the five match series in Cardiff.

    Jason Roy scored a century before Liam Plunkett picked up four wickets to help the hosts dash Aussie hopes.

    8:20 pm – Sri Lanka finally resume play

    SPORTS-CRICKET

    Sri Lankan players went back to the field following a two-hour delay as they were penalised five penalty runs ahead of the third day of the second Test against the West Indies by umpires Aleem Dar and Ian Gould who ruled that they had altered the condition of the ball.

    After discussions between officials and the players, match referee Javagal Srinath upheld Gould and Dar’s decision.

    8:00 pm – No contract for Jesse Ryder

    New Zealand former international batsman Jesse Ryder did not find any takers in the first round of domestic contract distribution.

    Ryder averaged more than 70 last season but was no signed up by Central Districts.

    7:10pm – David Warner signs for St. Lucia Stars in CPL

    David Warner has been keeping himself busy despite his international and domestic cricket one-year-ban. The former Australia deputy skipper has signed for Caribbean Premier League (CPL) outfit St. Lucia Stars for the 2018 editions just days after being picked in the players-draft for the inaugural Global T20 Canada league.     7:00pm – Australia given a target of 343 runs in Cardiff ODI

    England’s innings in the second ODI against Australia at Cardiff has drawn to a close with the hosts amassing 342-8 in their 50 overs. Opener Jason Roy starred for England with a fine century while stand-in skipper Jos Buttler remained unbeaten on 91. You can follow the live updates from this ODI over here.     6:00pm – Sri Lanka refuse to take the field after umpires change ball

    There is a huge controversy which has erupted in the ongoing second Test between West Indies and Sri Lanka in St. Lucia. The Sri Lankans have refused to take the field on day three after the umpires changed the ball overnight due to suspicions of ball-tampering. We will have more on this breaking story shortly.

    4:30pm – Afghanistan confident about learning from India defeat

    Afghanistan’s maiden Test might have ended with a heavy thrashing inside two days but that is not disheartening the team too much. Skipper Asghar Stanikzai, coach Phil Simmons and Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) chief executive Shafiqullah Stanikzai have all spoken about the lessons their team has learnt from their inaugural Test.     2:00pm – Rohit Sharma runs into Jose Mourinho at FIFA World Cup

    Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma made the most of not being picked for the Indian squad for the Afghanistan Test by visiting Moscow to catch the tournament openers between Russia and Saudi Arabia.     While the Afghan’s debut Test might have been short lived, there were plenty of reasons to smile for the Indian cricket team.     The Yo-Yo test has claimed a third casualty at India’s National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.
