    Looks like there are no end to Sri Lanka’s woes at the moment with veteran spinner Rangana Herath now a doubt for the third Test against the West Indies which gets underway on Saturday at Barbados. Sri Lanka cricket has released a statement saying Herath has injured his webbing his training and his participation for the Test is now under a huge cloud. Read more on this developing story here.

    While all the attention has been on how India’s pacers will perform in the swinging conditions in England, former coach Anil Kumble believes it will be spin which holds key for Virat Kohli’s men in their extensive tour.     6:30pm – BCCI finally endorses new contract system for team India

    After much delay, India’s top cricketers are set to be paid after the BCCI endorsed the new contract systems in a Special General Meeting (SGM) held at New Delhi on Friday. The new grading system had been announced by BCCI’s CoA all the way back in March but had not come into effect yet due to acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary delaying his endorsement.     Pakistan have announced their T20I and ODI squads for the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe with veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez making a return to the side. The men in green are slated to play in a T20 tri-series also involving Australia to begin their tour before taking on Zimbabwe in five ODIs.     There is some great news for Indian cricket fans with skipper Virat Kohli declaring that he has completely recovered from the neck injury he sustained in the IPL. Kohli was speaking to the media in New Delhi on Friday on the eve of the Indian team’s departure for the tour of Ireland and England.

    Sachin Tendulkar and Waqar Younis sparked a debate on two new balls in ODI cricket after the Indian legend tweeted about the disappearance of reverse swing from ODI cricket.

    Pakistan great Waqar agreed with Sachin’s views, tweeting: “Totally agree with you Sachin, reverse swing has almost vanished.”

    England captain Eoin Morgan said it would be great if the way his team are performing with the bat becomes the new normal.

    “If it does become the ‘normal’, that would be awesome – because it creates an unbelievable tone at the top of the order,” Morgan said after another fine effort from the top order helped England take a 4-0 series lead against Australia.
