The England coach has had his say one the 20-year-old sensation following his impressive performance in the 31-run victory against India on Saturday. Sam Curran took five wickets as well as scoring a half-century to give his team a 1-0 lead. They will be without Ben Stokes for the Lord’s Test on Thursday, who is due to appear in court on Monday. 3:30pm – India’s Ishant Sharma credits Sussex stint for Edgbaston display
India pacer Ishant Sharma picked up his eighth five-wicket haul in the Edgbaston Test against England although he still ended up on the losing side. Nevertheless, the lanky pacer has attributed his figures of 5-51 in the second innings to his county stint with Sussex earlier this summer.

3:00pm – Ollie Pope gets maiden Test call up as England drop Dawid Malan
Surrey youngster Ollie Pope has been handed a maiden Test call up with the axe coming down on Dawid Malan following his poor form. Pope, along with Chris Woakes, are the two changes to the England squad for the second Test against India with all-rounder Ben Stokes set to miss the game to attend his affray charges hearing.

2:00pm – Nasser Hussain slams Virat Kohli’s captaincy in Edgbaston defeat
Virat Kohli might have waged a lone battle with the bat for India in their 31-run defeat to England at Edgbaston but his captaincy has come under fire from former England skipper Nasser Hussain. Despite scores of 149 and 51 in the two innings, Hussain was not happy with some the decisions taken by the India skipper in the first Test.

11:30am – Virat Kohli leapfrogs Steve Smith to become top-ranked Test batsman
For the first time in his career, India skipper Virat Kohli has climbed to the top of the ICC Test rankings for batsmen. Following his knocks of 149 and 51 in India’s 31-run loss to England at Edgbaston, Kohli has leapfrogged Australia’s Steve Smith to take over the No1 mantle.
