  • Pakistan vs New Zealand goes ahead despite the tragic terrorist attack on Peshawar.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) wanted to postpone Wednesday’s fourth One-Day International (ODI) between Pakistan and New Zealand after a deadly terrorist attack on an Army school in Peshawar in which more than 130 children got killed.

"We tried our best to postpone the 4th ODI but were constrained by the broadcasters commitment as well as for cricketing reasons advised by New Zealand management,” explained the PCB Spokesman.

"We are playing outside Pakistan only because of the threat of terrorism at home. If we allow terrorists to disrupt our matches abroad, then all will be lost. So we have decided to go ahead with the match and our players will wear black armbands in grief and observe a minute's silence and flags will be lowered.”

While expressing its deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones in the attack, the PCB also announced that the proceeds of the 4th ODI will be donated to the families of the martyred children and towards rebuilding the school.

"The PCB will donate proceeds of the match to the families of the martyred and towards rebuilding the school,” the official added.

To demonstrate solidarity in view of the enormous tragedy that has befallen the nation, the PCB has decided to postpone today’s Malala Cup final match scheduled at Muridke while the board has also postponed the 4th One day match between Pakistan A and Kenya scheduled for 18th November. The Fourth One Day will now be played on 19th December.
