Pakistan cricket stars Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq have been named as advisors to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shaharyar Khan on cricket affairs after the conclusion of a Board of Governors meeting at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore.

The Board of Governors reiteratred its stance with regard to the Pakistan-India series, should take place as per the MoU signed between the two cricket boards.

“The BCCI must honour its commitment and play the series in the UAE,” said PCB chairman Shaharyar M. Khan.

“There is no justification behind asking Pakistan to play the series in India and there is no security issue involved if the two teams play in the UAE,” he added.

Speaking about Pakistan’s participation at the ICC T20 World Cup scheduled to take place in India early next year, he stated: “Keeping in mind the security situation, we will have to seek necessary approvals from the Pakistan government for the World T20.”

Meanwhile, the BOG all approved the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and endorsed that significant progress has made for the successful launch of the competition.

Shaharyar said that according to their estimation, PSL would be in a little deficit for PCB but it was certainly an important way of income in future and thus it must be supported at all costs.

The PCB also approved their annual budget which included the series with India and if the series is cancelled, PCB would have to make significant changes to it.

“I can confirm that more than 50 per cent of the revenue in budget is dependent on series with India and if that doesn’t happen, we’ll make changes. PCB can still survive even if doesn’t play with India,” Shaharyar added.
