  • Kane Williamson made instant impact on his return to the Indian Premier League, as Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 15 runs in Hyderabad Saturday night.

The Kiwi star, playing his first match this season after recuperating from an injury, first scored an important fifty (38 balls) and added quickfire 124 runs for the second wicket with his captain David Warner (92 in 50 balls), and later took an excellent tumbling catch to dismiss dangerman AB de Villiers.

Warner’s blistering innings, which came after Bangalore captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to field first in damp, overcast conditions, helped him take the orange cap for most runs in this IPL from his counterpart (386 runs to Kohli’s 381). The Australian continued his terrific run of form and hit nine boundaries and five sixes before holing out in the deep.
