Kolkata Knight Riders will be hoping to regain top spot on Friday night as Gujarat Lions travel to Eden Gardens.

The hosts have been superb so far, registering four wins from their five matches and victory would see them leapfrog Mumbai Indians back into first place.

For the visitors, it has been a woeful start to the season with just one win and four defeats leaving them cut well adrift at bottom of the table.

And you can follow every ball of the action with our in-play scorecard, commentary, and stats below.

We want to hear from you too, so share your thoughts with us via Twitter and Facebook as the game progresses.

The 25th match of this season’s Indian Premier League [IPL] will see Mumbai Indians host Delhi Daredevils at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday.

Mumbai are on a stunning run of form that has seen them win five matches on the bounce after beginning the tournament with a loss. Their batting against the Kings XI Punjab, chasing down 199 in just 15.3 overs, was a huge statement that will send shivers down the spine of opposition bowlers.

Delhi, on the other hand, have gone off the rails after making a promising start to the season. They desperately need a win to get their campaign back on track as they look to stay in touch with the top three.

Ahead of the match, we have the latest team news, start time and date, as well as how you can watch all the action from the UAE.

TEAM NEWS, SQUADS, PREDICTED XIs

MI SQUAD: Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard, Lasith Malinga, Hardik Pandya, Parthiv Patel, Harbhajan Singh, Ambati Rayudu, Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Gopal, Lendl Simmons, R Vinay Kumar, Mitchell McClenaghan, J Suchith, Siddhesh Lad, Jos Buttler, Nitish Rana, Tim Southee, Jitesh Sharma, Krunal Pandya, Deepak Punia, Nicholas Pooran, Mitchell Johnson, K Gowtham, Karn Sharma, Saurabh Tiwary, Asela Gunaratne, Kulwant Khejroliya

Mumbai have a well-balanced team and are looking good to finish in the top two and a spot in Qualifier 1, which will not only give them home advantage, but also two chances at qualifying for the final.

The only area of concern for Rohit Sharma’s team is the form of Lasith Malinga. The Sri Lankan pacer, who has been a lynchpin of the franchise for a number of years, has conceded 109 runs from eight overs in the last two matches and that might see him make way for Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson.

PREDICTED MI XI: Patel (wk), Buttler, Rana, Rohit, Pollard, Krunal, Hardik, Harbhajan, Johnson, McClenaghan, Bumrah

DD SQUAD: Mohammed Shami, Karun Nair, Sam Billings, Shahbaz Nadeem, Jayant Yadav, Amit Mishra, Shreyas Iyer, Zaheer Khan, Sanju Samson, Chris Morris, Carlos Brathwaite, Rishabh Pant, CV Milind, Khaleel Ahmed, Pratyush Singh, Angelo Mathews, Corey Anderson, Kagiso Rabada, Pat Cummins, Ankit Bawne, Aditya Tare, Murugan Ashwin, Navdeep Saini, Shashank Singh, Ben Hilfenhaus

Some of Delhi’s tactics have come under criticism this season, especially the move to send Angelo Mathews above Chris Morris in the batting order when the required run-rate was above 12 against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson is likely to be available for selection and, if that’s the case, should replace Mathews in the playing XI.

South Africa quick Kagiso Rabada could finally get a game, while Shahbaz Nadeem will feel he deserve to come back into the team after impressive performances in the first three matches.

PREDICTED DD XI: Samson, Billings, Nair, Pant (wk), Iyer, Anderson, Morris, Rabada, Mishra, Zaheer (c), Nadeem

MATCH PREDICTION

Delhi have been quite unpredictable this season, but Mumbai are clearly the favourites going into this game. Hence, we’re predicting a win for the hosts.

Who will come out on top?

The 24th match of this year’s IPL rolls into Pune with last season’s champions Sunrisers Hyderabad the guests of Rising Pune Supergiant.

RPS have struggled so far and sit second from bottom ahead of taking on a Sunrisers outfit that have regained their form after a couple of losses that looked to derail the immense momentum they have taken forward from last season’s victorious campaign.

Pune are in dire need of a win and will be hoping the likes of MS Dhoni, Ben Stokes and Steve Smith, in particular, can help them turn the tide.

As for the visitors, they’ll be after much of the same in pursuit of a win that could take them back to the top of the table.

Ahead of the match, we have the latest team news, start time and date, as well as how you can watch all the action from the UAE.

TEAM NEWS, SQUADS, PREDICTED XIs

RPS SQUAD: MS Dhoni, Ajinkya Rahane, Steve Smith, Faf du Plessis, Ashok Dinda, Ankush Bains, Rajat Bhatia, Ankit Sharma, Ishwar Pandey, Adam Zampa, Jaskaran Singh, Baba Aparajith, Deepak Chahar, Usman Khawaja, Mayank Agarwal, Ben Stokes, Jaydev Unadkat, Rahul Chahar, Saurabh Kumar, Dan Christian, Milind Tandon, Rahul Tripathi, Manoj Tiwary, Lockie Ferguson, Shardul Thakur, Imran Tahir

Victory last time out over RCB came largely thanks to a stellar bowling performance as their five bowler attack – including Stokes and Christian as all-rounders – operated in superb unison.

Their batting remains an issue, however, with no-one in the top order so far taking up the mantle to produce a big innings, of match winning substance.

Du Plessis has played just one game so far and will feel he deserves a go but considering how well Christian and Stokes bowled last time it would mean captain Smith would have to make way.

PREDICTED RPS XI: Rahane, Tripathi, Smith (c), Tiwary, Stokes, Dhoni (wk), Christian, Thakur, Unadkat, R Chahar, Tahir

SRH SQUAD: David Warner (c), Shikhar Dhawan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Moises Henriques, Mustafizur Rahman, Naman Ojha (wk), Deepak Hooda, Ricky Bhui, Kane Williamson, Siddarth Kaul, Bipul Sharma, Ashish Nehra, Yuvraj Singh, Ben Cutting, Barinder Sran, Abhimanyu Mithun, Vijay Shankar, Tanmay Agarwal, Mohammad Nabi, Ekalavya Dwivedi, Rashid Khan, Pravin Tambe, Chris Jordan, Ben Laughlin, Mohammed Siraj

Sunrisers have picked up again with two wins out of two and, once again, last time out showed the incredible depth and versatility this squad boasts.

Williamson came in to make a superb 89 from 51 balls in his first game back in the side and only madness would prevent the New Zealander from retaining his place.

Nabi has impressed when he’s played, while Mustafizur and Jordan remain on the sidelines, such is the strength of the Sunrisers.

PREDICTED SRH XI: Warner (c), Dhawan, Williamson, Henriques, Yuvraj, Ojha (wk), Hooda, Rashid, Bhuvneshwar, Siraj, Kaul

MATCH PREDICTION

This is a tricky one to call but Sunrisers look the better side, so away win.
