Gujarat Lions will face Delhi Daredevils in Match 50 of the 2017 Indian Premier League [IPL] on Wednesday, in what is an inconsequential game as far as the race for the playoff spots goes.
Both teams have exhibited poor form this year but will be keen to end the season on a high.
This will be one of two matches that the Lions will host at Green Park in Kanpur this term.

TEAM NEWS, SQUADS, PREDICTED XIs

GL SQUAD: Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, James Faulkner, Brendon McCullum, Aaron Finch, Dwayne Smith, Dinesh Karthik, Dhawal Kulkarni, Praveen Kumar, Andrew Tye, Ishan Kishan, Pradeep Sangwan, Shivil Kaushik, Shadab Jakati, Jaydev Shah, Nathu Singh, Basil Thampi, Tejas Singh Baroka, Manpreet Gony, Jason Roy, Munaf Patel, Chirag Suri, Shelly Shaurya, Shubham Agrawal, Pratham Singh, Aksh Deep Nath, Irfan Pathan, Ankit Soni.
With just four overseas players available after injuries to Brendon McCullum and Andrew Tye, and Jason Roy leaving for international duty – Gujarat included eight Indian players in the playing XI in the last match which meant that United Arab Emirates’ [UAE] Chirag Suri still hasn’t got a game.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Lions make a change and decide to play Suri here, which would make him the first ever UAE cricketer to play in an IPL match.
PREDICTED GL XI: Smith, Kishan, Raina (c), Karthik (wk), Finch, Jadeja, Faulkner, Kulkarni, Sangwan, Thampi, Soni.
DD SQUAD: Mohammed Shami, Karun Nair, Sam Billings, Shahbaz Nadeem, Jayant Yadav, Amit Mishra, Shreyas Iyer, Zaheer Khan, Sanju Samson, Chris Morris, Carlos Brathwaite, Rishabh Pant, CV Milind, Khaleel Ahmed, Pratyush Singh, Angelo Mathews, Corey Anderson, Kagiso Rabada, Pat Cummins, Ankit Bawne, Aditya Tare, Murugan Ashwin, Navdeep Saini, Shashank Singh, Ben Hilfenhaus, Marlon Samuels.
Delhi’s collection of overseas players has also taken a hit with Sam Billings, Chris Morris, Kagiso Rabada, and Angelo Mathews all leaving to their respective national teams.
This could see West Indian all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite, who has played just one match in the entire season, make a return.
PREDICTED DD XI: Samson, Nair, Pant (wk), Iyer, Samuels, Anderson, Brathwaite, Cummins, Mishra, Shami, Zaheer.
