Chennai Super Kings fans are desperate for the 11th edition of the IPL to start. The Super Kings were suspended from the IPL for two years following the spot fixing scandal. But with the franchise returning to the IPL fold, led by the city’s favourite cricket ‘son’ MS Dhoni, Super Kings fans have been going all out to show their love and appreciation.

The IPL is six days away but fans have started to throng the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in their thousands as the Super Kings began training for the tournament.

Earlier, Mike Hussey uploaded a video showing scores of CSK fans blocking the route of the team bus as players made their way to the ground for training.

Then on Sunday, Chennai scheduled an intra-team practice match at Chepauk that was open to the public. The stadium was nearly full for the match between Hussey XI and Fleming XI.

Dhoni was not present at the match as he had to travel to Delhi for a ceremony where he will be given the Padma Bhushan – India’s third-highest civilian award.
