Sunrisers Hyderabad will be hoping opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan recovers in time from his elbow injury to take on Chennai Super Kings in the IPL on Sunday.

Dhawan injured his elbow while batting against Kings XI Punjab in the last game and had to retire hurt as he couldn’t grip the bat. He didn’t train with the team on Saturday and team mentor VVS Laxman said they will give Dhawan enough opportunity to get fit but added the team has enough resources.

“There are a lot of options and that’s the luxury we have. Because again we’ve reiterated that with the kind of players we have in the squad we can make five or six combinations. There are various combinations which we can explore but I’m hoping Shikhar will be fine and he will play tomorrow,” Laxman said.

Chennai Super Kings enter the match high on confidence, with Shane Watson scoring century in the last game. The Super Kings have three wins under their belt and have pretty much nailed their combination.
