An on-song AB de Villiers is a delight for cricket fans all around the globe and Saturday was yet another masterclass delivered by the South African genius.

While Virat Kohli was dismissed thanks to a stunning catch by Trent Boult on the boundary line, it was de Villiers who made Royal Challengers Bangalore cruised to victory against the Delhi Daredevils.

De Villiers scored an unbeaten 90 off 39 balls to lead RCB to their second win in IPL 2018, as they won by six wickets in reply to DD’s total of 174 for 5.

The 34-year old’s knock included 10 fours and 5 sixes, but it was calming presence at the wicket and the shots he played that made the Bengaluru crowd dance to his beats.

And whilst ABD made a mockery of the DD bowlers, living up to his ‘Mr. 360’ tag, England and Rajasthan Royals all-rounder perhaps had an idea on how to stop the star batsman.

Stokes put out a tweet recalling one of the most infamous moments in cricket when Australia’s Trevor Chappell bowled an under-arm delivery to stop New Zealand’s Brian McKechnie from hitting a maximum, when six were needed off one ball.

Well, maybe that is indeed the only way to stop ABD when he is in the mood.
