It is fair to say that Ravindra Jadeja has had a miserable time in the IPL this year. Nothing seemed to be clicking for the Chennai Super Kings all-rounder with poor displays with the bat, ball and in the field.

Jadeja’s slow batting came in for criticism from coach Stephen Fleming following the side’s loss against Kolkata Knight Riders. Hence, when the India all-rounder was picked in the playing XI for the side’s clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Pune, the pressure was well and truly on him.

Jadeja did more than that as he turned in a fine bowling performance to silence his critics. The left-arm spinner had RCB and India skipper Virat Kohli chopping on to his stumps with his very first delivery of the day.

Jadeja’s arm-ball did the trick as Kohli was forced to manufacture space for the shot. On a pitch where spinners thrived, Jadeja went on to claim two more wickets to give his side a huge advantage in the match.

He had Mandeep Singh caught in the deep as the batsman looked to sweep him out of the ground before holding on to a sensational return catch off his own bowling to send back the well-set Parthiv Patel.

By the end of his four overs, Jadeja had only conceded 18 runs as he capped off an excellent bowling display which will definitely ease the pressure on his shoulders.

Ultimately, Royal Challengers Bangalore were restricted to 127-9 after being put in to bat first by MS Dhoni in Pune.
